Graduation Project Student Eligibility Policy

Purpose:

The purpose of this policy is to outline the eligibility requirements for students wishing to participate in the Graduation Project at the University of New Mexico. This program is designed to support students in completing their undergraduate degree without hidden obstacles.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be considered for participation in the Graduation Project, students must meet all of the following criteria:
  • Credit Hours Earned:
    • Students must have successfully completed a minimum of 90 undergraduate credit hours.
    • At least 30 of those credit hours must have be earned at UNM.
  • Cumulative GPA:
    • Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • University Standing:
    • Students must be admitted to UNM and in good financial standing, with no active bursar holds on their account.

Program Admission Guidelines:

  • Students may be admitted into the Graduation Project once they have met all eligibility requirements, regardless of the semester in which they initially enrolled at UNM.
  • Active and currently enrolled students are eligible for consideration once all criteria are met.
  • Eligibility does not need to be established in the student's initial semester of enrollment.
  • If a student becomes eligible after their starting semester, they are not entitled to retroactive TAP awards, or a refund of the application fee. Graduation Project benefits will begin in the semester the student is deemed eligible and will apply only moving forward.
